Tucked away in the quirky canyon town of Topanga, Endless Color is as unique as a restaurant as you’ll find. Part pizzeria, part natural wine shop, part vintage record store, and part coffee shop, Endless Color embodies the bohemian and free-spirited vibe of the surrounding community. Add a menu of delicious food and vino, and you have a popular destination for local artists, musicians, and Burning Man regulars. The restaurant opened in 2020 during the pandemic and was limited to only take out orders. But once things started to reopen, guests were welcomed to enjoy its captivating space.
My fiance and I made the 45 minute drive from West Hollywood to Topanga one Saturday afternoon to grab lunch at Endless Color. Even though, I wasn’t that far out from the city, it felt like a totally different world out in the canyon. If you haven’t been, Topanga is a very secluded and and quiet area. The restaurant is located on the “busier” part Topanga Canyon Boulevard, where small boutiques, art galleries, and wellness studios were found nearby. When driving, just look out for the vibrant “pizza” sign on the side of the road.
Inside, Endless Color looks a a cross between the Flintstones and huge ceramic art project. On one side, you’ll find a collection of vintage vinyl records to dig through. On another side, there’s a plentiful collection of red, white, orange, and sparkling natural wines. And at the counter, you’re greeted with fresh baked goods and a friendly staff. My favorite thing about the decor were the zig-zagging light fixtures that hung above the bar.
Endless Color has a pretty straightforward menu with it’s personal sized Neapolitan pizzas taking center stage. We decided to go with the pepperoni pizza, mushroom pizza, and Cesar salad. I also got a glass of Chardonnay to pair with the meal.
We took a seat on the outdoor patio, which was a lot of tables big and small. It was a very warm day, so it we found some shade near a wall of flowers. While waiting for our food to arrive, we overheard some conversations between local artists who talking about their latest work and design studios. There was also some good retro music playing in the background, which is too be expected from a part-vinyl shop.
The food took about 15 minutes to come out and we were ready to eat! Each pizza was good for one person, so I recommended ordering more than one if you’re dining with others. Luckily there’s a variety of pies to try. The pepperoni pizza was solid. I usually don’t eat pepperoni because it’s too salty or oily for me, but Endless Color’s wasn’t too heavy in flavor, with minimal tomato sauce. However, the mushroom pizza was really good with its mozzarella and gruyere blend and major hits of garlic. The Ceasar salad was good as well, with the baked croutons added a nice touch.
Overall Endless Color is a great place for a chill lunch if you want to get a breather from Los Angeles (the city). With a variety of options, you can grab a full meal, a glass of wine, or a simple coffee. After lunch, you can walk to the nearby shops. Also, Endless Color is not too far from the Topanga Canyon Lookout Hike.
